DATA PRIVACY NOTICE FOR BUSINESS PARTNERS
(For Clients, Suppliers, Vendors, ANY THIRD PARTY where we collect personal information from the company’s employees)

Manpower South Africa (Pty) Ltd (“Manpower”) processes personal and/or confidential information regarding individuals who work for the companies with whom Manpower does business for, inter alia, the following purposes ‑

  1. to establish and maintain a business relationship with such a  company;
  2. to inform company personnel about additional business opportunities; and
  3. for customary internal Manpower purposes, such as finances and accounting functions, legal functions, management functions; and
  4. for the management and defense of legal claims and actions, compliance with court orders and other legal obligations and regulatory requirements.

Manpower processes sensitive personal and/or confidential information only if required to meet its legal obligations, or with the individual’s consent.

Manpower reserves the right to disclose personal and/or confidential information obtained from Manpower’s business partners as needed to further the objective of the business relationship.  These disclosures may be made to other Manpower entities, job candidates, and other business partners, subcontractors who perform services on Manpower’s behalf, and where Manpower are otherwise required to do so by law.  Personal and/or confidential information may be transmitted to locations outside of South Africa, including to countries that do not have comprehensive privacy laws.  In each case, Manpower shall make all reasonable efforts to ensure that all confidential information transmitted abroad receives reasonable protection.  Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained herein, Manpower cannot be held responsible for any loss, action, expense, claim, harm or damage of whatsoever nature suffered or sustained pursuant to the disclosure of any information transmitted abroad in terms hereof.

For the purposes of this notice “personal and/or confidential information” means any information which by its nature or content is identifiable as confidential and/or proprietary to the disclosing party or which is provided or disclosed in confidence and which the disclosing party or any person acting on behalf of the disclosing party may disclose or provide to Manpower or which may come to the knowledge of the Manpower by whatsoever means.  Personal and/or confidential information specifically excludes information or data which is lawfully in the public domain at the time of disclosure thereof to Manpower, subsequently becomes lawfully part of the public domain by publication or otherwise, becomes available to Manpower from a source other than the disclosing party which is lawfully entitled without any restriction on disclosure to disclose such confidential information to Manpower or is disclosed pursuant to a requirement or request by the operation of law, regulation or court order.  Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained herein, the onus shall at all times rest on the disclosing party to establish that such information falls within the ambit of personal and/or confidential information as defined herein. The Manpower family of companies cares about your privacy and is committed to processing your personal information in accordance with our Global Data Privacy Policy and standards of fair information practices.

Manpower South Africa (Pty) Ltd (“Manpower”), processes your personal and/or confidential information as necessary for, inter alia, the following purposes ‑

  1. to establish and maintain an employment or staffing/placement relationship with you;
  2. to assess your suitability for a position or task, to notify you of relevant opportunities, provide you with training opportunities and career transition services, and arrange employment or assignments for you;
  3. for the performance of our master vendor relationships, on-site management services and outsourcing arrangements;
